Founded in 2002 by Nathan Bogle and Marcus Wainwright, Rag & Bone was born out of a desire to create masterfully constructed clothing. Rooted in British heritage and imbued with a New York edge, the brand is known for innovative yet wearable clothing and accessories that redefine effortless, urban style. After Bogle departed from the company in 2006, David Neville, who had come onboard the previous year, became a partner with Wainwright. Prior to Rag & Bone, Neville and Wainwright, who met at boarding school in their native UK, had little design or fashion experience between them. It was in New York in 2001 that Wainwright had the idea to try to make a pair of men’s jeans. Wainwright traveled to Kentucky where he worked closely with a factory for over 18 months to perfect the process. From this experience, the brand’s philosophy was born. Today, Rag & Bone offers men’s and women’s jeans, footwear, and accessories.
